Art Course: Artful Foundations

This popular 10-week course is tailored for adults interested in developing their drawing and painting skills in a supportive and creative environment. A personalized, hands-on approach makes it ideal for both beginners and those with some experience looking to refine their artistic practice. Students will learn to “see like an artist,” draw from observation, and explore the elements and principles of art. After building foundational skills, students will be guided through weekly acrylic painting projects. A variety of subjects—such as still life, landscapes, animals, portraits etc.—will be explored to support learning in colour mixing, brush techniques, light, form, values and composition. Printed handouts will be provided weekly to support continued learning at home.
