Call for Artists

Artusiasm is proud to host an open themed art exhibition Colours Within, at the Parkview Gallery at Neilson Park Creative Centre in the West end of Toronto. We invite artists of all backgrounds, styles, and mediums to submit their work.

Theme Description:

Colours reveal what lies beneath the surface. We invite artists to submit work for Colours Within—a group exhibition exploring the emotional power of colour. From fiery reds to tranquil blues, this evocative show celebrates how colour can express the feelings, memories, and inner landscapes that words often cannot.

Whether your work is bold or subtle, spontaneous or intentional, we are looking for pieces that act as mirrors to the inner world—revealing truths, moods, or deeply personal stories through hue and tone.

This exhibition welcomes a wide range of styles and approaches. From abstract compositions to expressive portraits or realism-inspired landscapes, if your art speaks through colour, we want to see it.

Rules

Please make sure you read the rules carefully before you apply.

Guidelines for Artwork:

Medium: We welcome all forms of 2-dimensional visual art, including but not limited to paintings, drawings, mixed media, photography and original digital work. All artwork must be ready to hang on a wall.
Size: Minimum 12"x12" and maximum 24"x30", inclusive of frames (if any). Revised
Preparation:
- All artwork must be properly wired according to weight.
- Artwork must be completely dry at the time of drop off.
- Flat panels/boards/paper must be framed. Stretched canvas 3/4" or deeper does not require a frame.
Content: Artwork must be appropriate for an audience of all ages, including children. The gallery reserves the right to refuse any artwork it deems offensive or inappropriate for their centre.
Participation Fee (if accepted): $30 for 1 piece, $50 for 2 pieces. Revised

Rename each JPEG image in this format: ARTIST NAME_ARTWORK TITLE
Fill out the Application Form (click the red button below)
Wait for an acceptance email from Tanzina Amin by August 24
- The email will include all details regarding artwork preparation, drop-off, pick-up and the reception
- If you don't receive an email by August 25, please contact us ASAP at artusiasm@gmail.com
If your artwork(s) is/are selected, please send an e-transfer to artusiasm@gmail.com, with the artist's name mentioned in the memo

Exhibition: September 4 to 20, 2025

Application Deadline: August 20, 2025

Acceptance: August 24, 2025

Art Drop-Off: Aug 28 (6pm-9pm) or Aug 29 (9am-12pm)

Art Pick-Up: September 21, 10am-12pm

Opening Reception: Thursday September 4th, 2025

Location: Parkview Gallery, Neilson Park Creative Centre, 56 Neilson Dr, Toronto, ON

Sales and Commission:

Neilson Park Creative Centre (NPCC) handles all sales and will contact the artists directly regarding any sales, and will arrange payment to artists, less 15% gallery commission.
HST is applicable to all sales. HST will be remitted to artists on submission of their HST registration number; otherwise HST will be reported and remitted by NPCC.

Publicity/Media Consent:

By submitting the application form, the artist gives permission for any photography and video/audio recording related to this exhibition, and for use in any publication/posts on social media, public platforms, or printed media, now or in the future. This includes marketing and promotional materials.

Final Words:

Please note that space is limited. Submissions will be reviewed by the curators, who will select a range of works to create a cohesive and impactful showcase. We will try our best to accommodate all submissions, but cannot guarantee that every submission will be accepted.
