ADVANCED ART CLASS - ADULTS

Service Description

This class is for anyone interested in taking advanced painting lessons. You must have the basic ability to draw fairly well, in correct proportions. If you need help drawing, please join the beginner drawing and painting class. Classes are interactive so the teacher and students can see each other's work. These are weekly 2 hour classes, and students can continue as long as they wish. We cover important techniques and processes through a variety of painting projects. The artwork subjects include still life, landscapes, figurative etc. in a variety of styles. A minimum of 4 students must be registered for a class to be held. Schedule: Fridays 4-6 pm Class Fees: $15 per hour, i.e. $30 per week for a 2 hour class. Bring a friend discount:  If you add a friend to this class both you and your friend will get $5 off per week ($25 per week). A Zoom link is shared through the group. Supplies: • Canvas (8”x10” to 9”x12”) • Acrylic paint tubes (not liquid) • Flat bristle brushes in different sizes • One flat brush at least 1” wide • One very thin round pointed brush • Palette knife/knives • Palette or foam/plastic plate • A container of water • Paper towels/rags In Toronto, supplies can be bought from Dollarama, Walmart, Michaels, Curry’s or DeSerres. Most stores offer delivery options as well. Setup: • Students should wear an apron and/or old clothes. • Cover work surface with a waterproof tablecloth. Zoom: You can join the meeting from multiple devices simultaneously, but all additional devices should be muted and sound turned off to avoid echoes. Use only one device for audio. A laptop/tablet/monitor for the Zoom screen in Speaker View must be clearly visible while painting. If possible, mount a cellphone facing your work surface so I can monitor your work throughout class. This is not mandatory, but recommended.
